Hi, I’m Shawna Atteberry, and I am a writer, researcher, and editor. I am currently looking for a full-time writing and editing position in Chicago. In previous careers, I researched and wrote theological books and articles. In addition, I’ve edited religious education materials and published one book, What You Didn’t Learn in Sunday School: Women Who Didn’t Shut Up & Sit Down, (Wipf and Stock Publishing, February 2013). I would like to write and edit for an organization that is working to make the world a better place.
In my free time, I like to take long walks along Lake Michigan and through downtown Chicago, cook for friends, bake, crochet, knit, and read. You can follow my cooking and baking adventures on Instagram. I am also an avid science-fiction/fantasy fan and consume books, TV shows, and movies in that genre. In addition, I am a lay preacher, teacher, and a Warden on the Vestry at Grace Episcopal Church, and I am an ESL tutor and Citizenship teacher at Literacy Chicago.
I created this blog from my non-religious nonfiction and fiction writing to separate from my religious writings which you can find at ShawnaAtteberry.com.
